Katie Brent Studio, Woodbine Cottage, Perry Street, Chard, Somerset, TA20 4QH
This three-hour beginner-friendly workshop introduces participants to the expressive possibilities of mono-printing through the theme of seascapes. Guided step by step, you will experiment with mark-making, layering, and colour blending to evoke the shifting moods of the sea. Using rollers, textured objects, and painterly techniques on the printing plate, you’ll learn how to build abstract, impressionistic compositions that capture the feeling of water, horizon, and atmosphere. No prior experience is required — you’ll be encouraged to explore freely, experiment with chance elements, and embrace the unique surprises of the mono-printing process. By the end of the session, you’ll create a couple of evocative prints that reflect your personal interpretation of the seascape to take with you.
There are 5 places on this workshop. All materials included. Tea and coffee will be provided. Wear old clothes you don’t mind getting ink on! Aprons and gloves will be provided. Course is for 16 years and over.
