In this immersive 5 hour workshop you’ll learn; how to apply colour theory using complementary colours, how to interpret light, colour, and movement to create your own semi-abstract water scene inspired by Monet’s iconic style. Using acrylic paints, we’ll build layers through mark-making, and subtle texture techniques that capture the shimmering, dreamlike quality of water and reflection.
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, this session is designed to spark creativity and help you loosen up your brushwork, and embrace the art of suggestion over detail. You’ll leave with a completed painting on paper, new skills in expressive painting, and a deeper appreciation for Monet’s magical approach to light and landscape.

All materials will be provided. The group size is a maximum of 4 students. Over 16’s only. A light lunch will be provided, or alternately bring your own packed lunch.

Its helpful if you have some basic drawing skills. Good for building confidence in drawing, using a variety of materials. If you're feeling rusty this would be very suitable!
A light lunch will be provided. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available during the workshop.
Yes, there is a bathroom on the stuido premises.
Unfortunately the premises are not suitable for wheelchair users.
Yes you will be able to take your artwork away with you at the end of the session.
